The Course of Our Work Together
It is helpful to have goals of therapy in mind as we begin the process, either initially or within the first few meetings. We may engage in brief counseling for a time-limited, specific problem or in therapy on a deeper basis, perhaps for many months, that can result in broader, lasting change.
Results
Clients have experienced these types of results:
- Decreased inner pain and increased appreciation, joy and self-acceptance.
- A better understanding of the relationships they are in -- why they work like they do -- and clarifying how they prefer to “be with” others with whom they are in relationship.
- Improved self-management, for example, shifting habits that are unconscious, automatic and not particularly healthy to ones that are conscious, purposeful and affirming.
- Learning how to process experiences and emotions so that they are used for upliftment and growth, rather than becoming stuck as self-criticisms, regrets or unhealed wounds.
- Learning how to notice, express and use conflict in healthier ways.
- Understanding themselves as having both a human and a spiritual experience, for example, attuning to the spiritual growth and enrichment that may go unnoticed in otherwise ordinary or painful events.
